Police investigates aggravated robbery in Kajjansi.

KAMPALA, Uganda The Kajjansi Police Division is investigating an aggravated robbery that happened on the 11th of April, 2025, at around 6:30 pm in Lweza Cell A, Ndejje Division, Makindye-Ssabagabo municipality, Wakiso District.

According to the deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, Luke Owoyesigire, two unidentified men on an armed Haojue motorcycle (reg. UGG 774A) attacked a parked Toyota Premio (reg. UBE 079Z) outside N&M Unisex Saloon armed with an AK-47 rifle, shattering the vehicle’s window and stealing two bags.

” While fleeing, they were confronted by a boda boda rider , Tumwesigye Peter, who, along with Abdul Swabur, was shot and injured. Both were taken to Midmay Hospital; Swabur was later referred to Mulago Hospital.” Owoyesigire said

Owoyesigire added that a joint effort by boda boda riders, locals, and police led to the pursuit and neutralization of one of the suspects and the recovery of an AK-47, a red Haojue motorcycle, one cartridge, a national ID (suspected to be for one of the assailants), two mobile phones, and a red bag with a ring spanner.

He further commended the swift response of the community and boda boda riders as further investigations continue.
