Security guard shoots three people at Ultimate Security Offices in Mbuya.

KAMPALA, Uganda | Three people have been killed in a tragic shooting incident at the Ultimate Security Company offices in Mbuya, Nakawa Division.

The deceased have been identified as security guard Mwaawa Richard, the suspected shooter; the company’s armoury officer, Bwampata Salez; and assistant human resource officer Noella Zella of Ultimate Security, according to a statement from Kampala Metropolitan Police.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident occurred at approximately 9:00 AM when Mwaawa Richard allegedly entered the company premises and opened fire, killing Noella Zella and Bwampata Salez. Police were alerted to the active shooter situation and swiftly responded.

As responding officers attempted to neutralise the threat, they engaged the suspect and fatally wounded him.

All three bodies have been taken to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination. The gun thought to have been used in the shooting has been found and is presently being examined by forensic experts.

Owoyesigire further added that it is still unclear what motivated the attack. A thorough investigation into the events leading up to the shooting has been started by the police.

“We urge members of the public to remain calm and allow the police to carry out a thorough investigation into this unfortunate event,” ASP Owoyesigyire added.
